min ceramics.
Min Ceramics was born out of a passion for creating art with her daughter. For Melinda creating ceramics is a dream that has been waiting to be set free and something she could pour endless amounts of love into. Melinda found working with porcelain clay, her flat artist canvas suddenly became three dimensional. Some of her forms start on the wheel but she most typically manipulates the shape by rearranging the roundness. Other shapes are made by sculpting the clay. Melinda love's pushing the boundaries of the form and the final finish. She has spent many hours searching for finishes that in the words of a lady potter who was a taught by Bernard Leach (The Father of British studio pottery) “I want my work to be like moss and stones and birds eggs”. Every piece is handmade, hand painted and completely unique. Melinda's painting is most typically freehand or etched. She puts whimsy and practical together to bring you functional ware that you can fall in love with.
